Use and safety of magnetic resonance imaging in patients with an implanted MRI-conditional pacing device

چکیده
Methods This was a retrospective, single center study. All patients with an MRI conditional pacemaker or Internal Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) implanted in our center between June 2011 and March 2015 were enrolled. All MRI examinations performed in these patients were evaluated. For all patients, pacing thresholds, Pand R-wave amplitude, lead impedance and battery longevity were monitored during the entire follow-up.

Use of Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Food Quality Control: A Review
Modern challenges of food science require a new understanding of the determinants of food quality and safety. Application of advanced imaging modalities such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has seen impressive successes and fast growth over the past decade. Since MRI does not have any harmful ionizing radiation, it can be considered as a magnificent tool for the quality control of food prod...
متن کاملThe Kora Pacemaker is Safe and Effective for Magnetic Resonance Imaging
BACKGROUND The impact of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) on pacemakers is potentially hazardous. We present clinical results from a novel MRI conditional pacing system with the capability to switch automatically to asynchronous mode in the presence of a strong magnetic field. AIMS The IKONE (Assessment of the MRI solution: KORA 100™ and Beflex™ pacing leads system) study is an open-label, pr...
متن کاملSafety of magnetic resonance imaging of patients with a new Medtronic EnRhythm MRI SureScan pacing system: clinical study design
BACKGROUND Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of patients with implanted cardiac devices is currently considered hazardous due to potential for electromagnetic interference to the patient and pacemaker system. With approximately 60 million MRI scans performed worldwide per year, an estimated majority of pacemaker patients may develop an indication for an MRI during the lifetime of their pacemaker...
متن کاملSafety of magnetic resonance imaging in patients with implanted cardiac prostheses and metallic cardiovascular electronic devices.
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in patients with implanted cardiac prostheses and metallic cardiovascular electronic devices is sometimes a risky procedure. Thus MRI in these patients should be performed when it is the only examination able to help with the diagnosis. Moreover the diagnostic benefit must outweigh the risks. Coronary artery stents, prosthetic cardiac valves, metal sternal sutur...
متن کاملCardiovascular magnetic resonance in cardiac sarcoidosis with MR conditional pacemaker in situ
Cardiovascular implantable electronic devices represent important limitations to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Recently, MRI-conditional dual chamber pacemakers and leads have become available. We describe a case of a patient with neuro-sarcoidosis presenting with diplopia and hydrocephalus requiring an MRI-conditional programmable ventriculo-peritoneal shunt, who developed complete heart b...
